What is the Goldsteig Ultra Race??

          Ah, the Goldsteig! Well the Goldsteig is a point-to-point trail race more than 410 miles long, with over 77,000 ft of elevation gain (if you want to get to the top of mount Everest, it'll be around 30,000ft) and has a 192hr time limit. It's Sept 27-Oct 5 in the Bavarian Alps in Germany. It's is the longest, toughest, non-stop foot race in Europe. This Beast ain't no joke.

       The race's slogan is "Rise from your ashes" and its logo is a Phoenix. The race takes some of the world's bravest Ultrarunners, mountaineers, and endurance athletes and pits them against was is undoubtedly one of the most brutal courses on the planet. This year there are 63 athletes starting the race from over 12 countries and I am the youngest competitor and only U.S. athlete.

      The reason I started this blog is to record this life changing journey and let everyone I know share in the experience with me if they're interested. All the greatest adventures can never be completed alone and the best lessons are learned from the process, not the result. Not to mention if you are or have been in my life, some way or another you're already a part of it with me. ;)
